Dr. Mathew Bukhi Mabele (Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, The University of Dodoma)

Dr. Mabele investigate the structures and processes driving socio-ecological injustices. He also explores transformative pathways toward just and equitable conservation within ecosystems.

This seminar will provide input to the research group conducting fieldwork in Tanzania as part of the FOCE research project ("Postdevelopment Geographies of Local Food Systems: Community-Based Networks Addressing Food Insecurity).

FOCE focuses on local economies and alternative food systems rooted in relational, informal, and cultural practices of food production, distribution, and consumption. Key themes include ancestral knowledge, more-than-human relationships, access to land and resources, environmental degradation, and regenerative practices.
